The Ortigas Center Library Consortium (OCLC) Inc. would like to invite you to a forum on “Abstracting Theses, Feasibility Studies, Scientific Studies and Seminar Papers: The Easy Way ” on March 6, 2009 from 1:00–5:00 p.m. It will be held at the Ortigas Foundation Library, Inc.
The forum has the following objectives:
o To know what an abstracting is, its types and benefits
o To know the parts of an abstract
o To learn the techniques in abstracting, feasibility studies, scientific studies and seminar progress
Non-members will be charged P200, members P150, and college students P 100.00. The forum fee is inclusive of snacks, certificates and handout in CD ROM.

February 21-22 Acting and ReadingTechniques in Story Telling
The National Library of the Philippines in partnership with Alitaptap Storytellers Philippines the volunteer storytelling group of the country whose mission is to promote literacy through the art of storytelling will conduct the Acting and Reading Techniques in Story Telling (ARTIST) Workshop on February 21-22 2009 (Saturday and Sunday)from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Executive Lounge, 6th Floor,The National Library of the Philippines,T. M. Kalaw Ave. , Ermita, Manila , Philippines.
A two-day hands-on workshop that allows you to watch other storytellers demonstrate their favorite stories. Find out what stories are interesting to tell, learn different techniques in making storytelling fun to children, learn exercises that can be given to children to develop storytellers.

Geared towards promoting awareness of the current state of Librarianship and Information Science and the new image of librarianship, this event was consisted of conference, essay writing and poster making contest only for the high school students for the past two years. Past speakers of the forum were Dr. Juan Buenrostro, Chief Librarian of Baliuag University and Ms. Eimee Rhea Lagrama, former president of the UP Library Science Alumni Association (UP LSAA). Now on its third year, with the inclusion of LIS students from various universities and colleges in the contest, this annual event aims to give people a new and better perception about the field of library and information science (LIS).

- Ramos, also supervised a memorial library, came to PNU from barrio library work, where he managed three libraries and adult classes for Trinity College of Quezon City-Sagada Special Academic Program for 3 years. He started as a teacher-librarian (E. Abada High School, DCS, Manila) in 1992, became an instructor-librarian for six years (St. Louis College of Valenzuela City), and previously college librarian of the Education & Periodicals Section of PNU, 2008 president to PNU-LISAA, Inc., now conference chair to Every Librarian's Association, PAARL, Inc He earned academic units both for Master in Public Administration and Master in Educational Management. Presently, he is enrolled in MAED with Library Science as specialization at PNU and used to work in the IRS of DLSU-Manila and now associate librarian to its Archives services.
